Driving into the Future – Automotive Industry
If you are considering a career in the automotive industry, then consider this. There is a immediate and real shortage of auto and motorcycle mechanics now and into the future. This shortage means greater pay and opportunities in an exciting growth industry.
The mechanical and design prowess highlighted in such shows as American Chopper, Monster Garage and Overhaulin brings hope in a new generation of inspired and creative automotive and motorcycle technicians. The problem is they are not finding their way into the industry fast enough to keep up with demand. According to Alfred L Gaspar, president and CEO of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA). "For every 10 technicians who retire or change careers each year, only two to three new technicians enter the work force."
Degrees are available in areas such as Nascar Technician Training, Diesel Technician Training, Industrial Technician training, Collision Repair and Refinishing or a FlexTech automotive Program. There are also programs specific to auto manufacturers such as Ford FACT and Toyota TPAT programs as well as courses for Auto Repair technician, Auto mechanics, Automotive Technologies, Small Engine Repair, Automotive Engineering and Diagnostician.
If a career in the automotive industry interests you, find a ASE NATEF Master Certified institution in your area or a more flexible program through distance learning or online automotive coursework.
